New Haven “Wilson” Banjo Wall Clock

Historical transaction records of New Haven Wilson Banjo Wall Clock

1. Description:

New Haven Clock Co. banjo, “Wilson”, ca 1920. Double wind, 30 day movement with the correct pendulum, is running. 8 inch silver dial, black painted numerals have been strengthened. Original reverse painted panels. The bottom panel was beginning to lose paint so a white paper cover was glued on the back to hold the paint. That is not as professional looking as rebacking with paint, but the paper did no harm and in fact greatly enhanced the beauty of the tablet. Gold plated ornamental cast metal side rails and eagle. Bowed glass over the dial, and signed metal beat scale. Large 40 1/2 inch solid mahogany case in nice, 80 year old condition. Ly-New Haven No.213.
