C.1930 French Art Deco Figural Clock & Garnitures
Historical transaction records of French Art Deco Figural Clock
Description:
For your consideration is a fine French art deco mantel clock surmounted with a spelter figure of a bob-haired girl in a swimsuit holding a dove.
The case is in a striking design of three different coloured marbles, mint green, chestnut and ivory.
The dial is signed by the maker ‘ E. Ronflard, Tours’ , which is a city on the Loire, the base of one of the garnitures also monogrammed ‘ER’. The bevelled glass has a hinged chrome frame.
The brass striking movement has the pendulum and is complete but not working when wound.
The condition is very good, just a couple of very minor nibbles to the top edge of the clock. The sculpture has excellent detail and is finished in gold with her hair in black. There is no damage or restoration and an inexpensive refinish will return this attractive bathing belle to her former glory.
Clock height 15 inches  38cm  length 14 inches  36cm  Total weight approx 12kg.
