6.Description:

Ansonia Clock Co. mantle clock, “Parisian”, ca 1880. Finally a clock that has not been cleaned. This one has the original finish on the black walnut case, now dirty and dark from years of pollution and smoke. On the few places where it was handled a lot you can see what the original finish looked like. 23.5 inch case has the original glass, still very nice; full label on the back; the original paper dial is OK but if you refinish the case you may want to change paper dials. Silver dial rings, silver pendulum. Movement is 8 day, strike and alarm. Strikes a coil gong, alarms on a brass bell. Clock is running very briskly. Ly-Ansonia #1778.

7.Description:

Ansonia Clock Co. mantle clock, “Parisian”, ca 1880. Most call this dark walnut case that is about 24″ high, “teardrop”. It was cleaned but no polish put back on the wood. The wood parts are original and all intact, has a wonderful glass featuring a peacock, other birds, and even a lake with a boat on it. No door latch but the nickel pendulum and nickel gong base are very good, and the nickeled dial rings match the other nickel items. Old signed dial is soiled, and the hands and alarm set ring are correct. The 8 day movement and alarm movement both are functioning properly, alarm sounding on the nickel gong base, and the hours and half hours sounding on the Cathedral gong. Ly-Ansonia No. 1778.
