J.E. Caldwell Quarter Hour Repeater Carriage Clock. An oval brass case w/ curved sides and beveled glasses, escapement exposed through the top, and alarm/repeater button. Black spade hour hand, enameled dial w/ black roman numerals and minute markers on the chapter ring and sub-dial below for the alarm; signed on the dial and movement “J.E. Caldwell”. Quality brass movement w/ silvered lever platform escapement, strikes on a single coiled gong. Switch on the bottom of the case for silent, hour and quarter hour strike. All appears to be running, strikes properly and balance has good brisk motion; some tarnish to the case. 4.75″W x 7.5″H x 4″D. Estimated Value$2,000 – 3,000.
