French, retailed by J.E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia. Made circa 1900. Fine and rare, miniature, gilt and silvered brass, hour and half-hour striking and repeating, 8 day-going carriage clock. C. Gilt and silvered brass, “Anglaise riche”, dentil friezes, corinthian pillars, glazed sides and back door, the top glazed to view the escapement, curved and fluted hinged carrying handle. D. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute track and Arabic fifteen-minute numerals. Blued steel “halberd” hands. M. Gilt brass, rectangular plates, four pillars, barrels for the going and striking trains, lateral lever escapement on a frosted silvered platform, cut bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating the hours and half-hours on a gong. Dial and movement signed. Dim. Height 10.5 cm., width 6.2 cm.
