19th century English carriage clock, repeater, Hunt & Roskell of London, 5″h. With key. Provenance: The items offered are from the Estate of RICHARD ALFRED CHAMBERS, MD. Dr. Chambers was born in 1923 at the family estate known as “Stoney Ware”, located on the banks of the Thames River in the lovely rural English town of Marlow, 30 miles southwest of London. He was the second son of a British petroleum engineer and a Danish mother. His only sibling and older brother John was killed in action during World War II when the Royal Air Force Lancaster bomber he was navigating was shot down by German Luftwaffe fighters off the coast of Holland.
