Patent Timepiece or “Banjo” Clock, Samuel Whiting, Concord, Massachusetts, in a mahogany case with turned finial, brass bezel enclosing the painted iron dial signed Warranted by S. Whiting, Concord, wooden side ornaments flanking the waist, lower box section with oval aperture for pendulum viewing, five-piece chestnut backboard all housing an eight-day brass, weight driven timepiece movement, (alterations), ht. 33 in.

Condition report

Condition: side ornaments, frames and oval aperture appear to be early alterations; dial and signature is undisturbed; unusual construction with the head, sides and box section veneered on pine and chestnut.
