Mahogany Patent Timepiece or “Banjo” Clock, New England, mid-19th century, with molded wooden bezel opening to a painted zinc dial above flat-beveled frames enclosing reverse-painted and gilt glasses, flanked by carved wooden sidearms, the lower door with a gilt eagle and marked S. WILLARD’S PATENT, brass eight-day time-only movement, wooden pendulum rod and brass-faced pendulum bob, cast iron weight, brass eagle finial, ht. 32 1/4 in.

Condition: glasses replaced; dial repainted; throat glass loose from frame; lower tablet loose in frame; finial replaced.
