Mahogany Patent Timepiece or “Banjo” Clock, Massachusetts, circa 1815, with concave gilded frames enclosing reverse-painted tablets, the lower depicting a kneeling woman in classical dress, the waist inscribed “Patent”, painted zinc dial with Roman numerals and eight-day timepiece with pendulum and iron weight, ht. 39 in.
