Mahogany Patent Timepiece or “Banjo” Clock by Aaron Willard, Jr., Boston, c. 1825, with brass bezel over the 7 3/4 in. dia. painted iron dial with Roman numerals and signed A. Willard, Jr., Boston, half round molded frames enclosing reverse-painted glasses, the lower with eagle and garland on a mustard ground, lower pedestal with acorn, eight-day time only weight powered movement with pendulum and lead weight, ht. 38 in.

Condition report

Condition: Dial relined including signature, side ornaments are added, lower glass is an old repaint, throat glass is original; metal weight baffle is a replacement; movement, weight and pendulum are period and correct for the clock.
