Federal Patent Timepiece or “Banjo” Clock, John Sawin, Boston, c. 1825, the painted iron dial signed Sawin, half round molded frames enclosing reverse-painted glasses, the lower with gilt eagle and shield and eight-day brass timepiece movement with iron weight and brass-faced pendulum, (lower glass fractured, imperfections), ht. 33 in.

Condition report

Condition: both glasses are original although lower glass fractured; minor in-painting on borders of glass; finial re-gilt; replacement minute hand.
