Circa 1828 mahogany and gilt presentation banjo clock. Original parts include painted metal dial, reverse painted glass panels, brass works, steel hands, lead weight, pendulum bob, even retains matching numbers carved into throat panel and door panel (497), Case in good original condition but for replaced bottom board. Eagle finial at top with what may be replaced spacer. Front reverse painting reads, “Presented to Joshua Sears 1828″. Clock measures 30″ tall, 33″ to top of finial. Width at base is 10”. The dial is 8″, and the depth is 3 3/4″ at the deepest point. No visible signatures or maker’s marks. Solid provenance. Consigned by the family of Joshua Sears.
