having an mahogany inlaid case, with stringing and rosettes, and two reverse painted glass panels, the lower one showing a ship battle between a British and an American ship, possibly The “Constitution” and the “Guerriere”. The clock is marked to the face E. Howard & Co., Boston, incorporated in1857 and operated under that name until March 24, 1861.The clock is 34 1/2″ high, 10″ wide, 3 3/4″ deep. Reverse painted panels starting to flake, normal age and use wear to case.
